Today I’m going to talk to you about my new favorite website, ShabbyApple.com. Shabby Apple contacted me back in February and asked if I would review their website/products and create a Pinterest board. Once I saw their site, I was sooo excited. After they sent the products, I was rarin’ to go and record a video… then every time I planned to, something came up or the weather was bad. Bummer. I couldn’t be happier when the sun finally came out and I could go outside and show you my goods! From Shabby Apple. Get your mind out of the gutter. 😉
Today I’m going to talk to you a little bit about what they sent me. When they contacted me they asked me to give a list of my favorite products on their website. There were so many that I liked, I had a very hard time narrowing it down. If you have a style that is conservative and chic with kind of a retro twist, you will love Shabby Apple.
The package arrived in the cutest little cloth bag (inside the plastic mailer bag, of course), smelling so delicious, I can’t describe it. Everything was folded and not wrinkled at all I was very pleased with them. And the little laundry bag is such a cute touch!
Shabby Apple sent me a beautiful long sleeve Forest Green wrap dress (they called it “Margot Dress Emerald Green”) and these gold plated Pave bow earrings. The dress was $76 and the earrings were $28.
Shabby Apple offers free shipping for all orders over $150. I will say, for some (even perhaps for me right now), these may be a bit pricey. For others, this is an incredible deal. In terms of the fashion industry, this shop would probably categorize into the Moderate or Contemporary/Popular category (see an explanation here). However, I will say that this price range usually will provide a higher quality level than say, what you might find at the mall or discount shops. As the old saying goes, “You get what you pay for.”
When you visit ShabbyApple.com you may see a little pop-up offer of 15% off if you follow them on Instagram. Do it! Even if you can’t shop right now, they have super cute photos that are fun to look at, so it doesn’t even feel like you’re seeing an ad, more like a mini-magazine shoot. Tres Parisienne!
Back to the dress…
Now, I don’t call very many things “must-haves,” but I feel like a wrap dress is one of the classic items that you must have in your closet.
In case you were wondering, Shabby Apple clothing is available from a size 0/P through 14/16. The dress Shabby Apple sent me is a size 10. I probably could have gone a size smaller just because wrap dresses are a little bit more forgiving for your shape (Yay!). I think the sleeves were a little bit big in the bicep area, but I wouldn’t return it. It’s not that much of a difference. The dress is very comfortable. It looks like it’s well made. The fabric is very soft and has great stretch. Keep in mind, this dress is Ponte de Roma, a thicker knit fabric. It’s a go-to never-gonna-show-your-panty-line-through-it fabric, though it can get quite warm. It’s perfect for the spring or fall, but I will probably put it away for the summer as things heat up.
One thing that I would like to mention is that they are very up-front with you about their return policy:
If you take the tags off, you cannot return it so if you’re trying it on, make sure to leave the tags on if you think that you might be returning it.
I paired the dress and earrings with a pair of emerald green suede pumps and a black bauble knit clutch.
